Chain Stitch

Chain stitch is again a decorative stitch, which involves a series of petal like stitches.

 Step 1 : Take the needle out through the point a.

Step 2 : Again insert the needle at the point a and take it out partially through  point b.

Step 3 : Twist the working thread around the needle.

Keep in mind : The thread should be parallel to the needle.

 Step 4 : Tighten the loop by taking out the needle and insert the needle at a point outside the loop, near to point b.

You will get a petal like motif,

These motifs stitches in a series forms the chain stitch.

For chain stitch insert the needle again at point b, ( b turns a in the next motif) and continue the process.

This forms the chain stitch.

The back side of the stitch will look some what like this.
