Find the detailed tutorial of this stitch in Mary Corbet’s Needlenthread.

Learning Griffin Stitch–Phase 1

Hooohooo Iam back………. I was not much active with new posts for a while, but that doesn’t mean I was away from this wonderful blogland. I am a regular visitor at all my favorite blogs, (u know tat na….my comments were always there in all ur new posts..hi hi hi ), and that visits leads to this post. I just want to show u a beautiful stitch called Griffin Stitch. Griffin stitch simply satisfies all my stitch preferences, I always love working with different colors of thread, I love big patterns (its tooo tedious to fill big patterns, so I stick to smaller ones), and the most important is it gives a different unique look to our work…..
I have started working a pattern, not yet completed, here z the work in progress,

Blanket Stitch Scallops..

Hi,

yep, a small hiatus from blogging, finished some books in between (thanks to readersweb, for motivating me to restart my reading habit), actually nothing was happening at the embroidery side, not because of lack of time, but was not in a mood to take up big projects.

But like any other embroiderers, I too cant keep the thread and needle away for long, so I tried to concentrate on some small works.

Here see this cute Blanket Stitch Scallops, I learned this stitch form Sarahs hand embroidery tutorials, this is one of my track pants, it was a bit long, so I cut it short, I was planning to do the edging by some straight stitching by folding the fabric. but after noticing this stitch at Sarah’s site, I decided to try it on, I think the result is excellent….It gives a cute and stylish look to my old track pants.

TAST–2012 Butterfly Chain Stitch

This weeks TAST is Butterfly Chain Stitch, a beautiful decorative stitch.. I learned this stitch from Sarah’s hand embroidery tutorials.  See, here I ll show u my application of this stitch,

well I am very much fond of fabindia kurthas, simple and elegant, but most of it has low neck, which is very uncomfortable for me. I simply tried this beautiful stitch on the neck part, it gives a look of a simple motif at the neck part and at the same time my problem is also solved…

Again a trial…this time feather …:-)

Yes, I told u na peacock related works are my long cherished wishes, this time I worked on a peacock feather on my Unni’ s (my son) kurtha. My Amma and my lovely sisters ( Rajani Chechi and Santhi Midun ) bought me some good threads, and other embroidery accessories, many thanks to them..Smile

But …. whenever I finish a work, I get a feeling that something is missing. I wont get a full satisfaction….

Here it is .. tell me what u feel…..

the snaps are not clear I think, I have to improve my photographic skills as well…(??), actually my Saj ( my husband) used to help me , but nowadays he is really really busy….

Well, the owner is all satisfied with the work, very eager to wear it to playschool.
